Yesterday, I travelled to Strumpshaw Fenm RSPB near Norwich. I have only visited that reserve on a couple of occasions previously so, looking for a change of scenery, I turned up to see what was around.

There is a viewing platform next to the Reception Centre overlooking one of the meres. One of the volunteers kindly pointed out an Otter fishing close in. In fact there was a pair - fascinating to watch but not the easiest to photograph well. Most of the time it was a just a muzzle or a tail showing as one dived.

Apart from that. the trip was disappointing. A water Pipit was showing from Fen Hide but too distant. Three Jack Snipe from Tower Hide were also too distant to photograph. A Greylag Goose took to the air in front of Tower Hide that warranted a shot but that was it. As I said, disappointing.
